FPPA Statewide Defined Benefit PlanĪll new uniformed Police and Fire become members become members of the Fire and Police Pension Association of Colorado (FPPA) statewide defined benefit plan. Investments are self-directed by employees. Employees are 100% vested in their own contributions and are fully vested in the Plan after 3 years or service. The employee contributes 5% (6% if hired after ) of base salary before taxes. Employees eligible for a normal retirement at age 65 receive a benefit of 2.2% of final average monthly pay for each year of credited service in the plan.īoth the employee and the City contribute to a defined contribution money purchase plan. Dental benefits are provided through Delta Dental of Colorado's PPO plus Premier program. The City offers eligible employees two medical plan options through Kaiser Permanente: a traditional HMO, and a Triple Option Point of Service Plan that covers care through the HMO, a network of participating providers, or any licensed provider of your choice.
